      Thanks for your question!

I study a lot because it’s one of my favourite things to do! Haha… bear with me and I’ll explain!

I think the studying I do now is probably quite different to what you’re used to at school. At school, we often have to study in order to learn new information, or prepare for an exam. It can feel good to gain knowledge and it’s very nice to get good grades. But what I really enjoy is the fact that my studies as a scientist are about creating my own facts, and discovering something totally new about how the brain works. I’m very lucky that if I have a question that fascinates me, I can design an experiment to test that, and find out the answer. Sometimes finding that answer can take several experiments and a lot of work, but it’s always exciting. In that way, I see studying the brain as not just my job, but something where I get paid for doing something I love, and I’m always motivated to find out more!
