Ricci Hannah answered on 1 Feb 2018:
That’s a very good and important question! I’ve always liked sport and exercise. I used to do all sorts (football, athletics, karate), but as I’ve gotten older those things make me ache too much. Now I do a lot more cycling, and recently cycled with my brother and some friends from London to Paris in 24 h to raise money for charity. It was hard but fun! There was laughter, sweat, tears…more sweat… and then laughter again. I also like to read pop-science and pop-philosophy, and travel books (when you’re not travelling, reading about travelling is the next best thing). The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett is great fun too – it’s like Harry Potter for adults who don’t want to grow up. Our lab group is quite a social bunch too, so we tend to do fun things together like bowling, go-karting, cycling at the velodrome. It’s always very competitive 😉

Same for me! I like exercise – so, I cycle a lot and have recently started climbing again (currently, I am trying very hard not to move my arms too much. They are very sore!). Otherwise you can probably find me looking at fun little museums in town, trying to find nice places to eat in town, meeting up with my friends or just spending a day on couch watching telly. I’m also lucky to be in quite a sociable department, so I had lots of fun playing minigolf, painting pottery, going to gigs or going bowling with my colleagues!
