I worked as a programmes assistant on this years Christmas lectures - helping produce the science demonstrations and working with Sophie on script and prompts.
I love working in areas where science and society meet – and showing how science can benefit us all!
I am also a PhD researcher in forestry and urban air pollution, working with industry to develop ‘green infrastructure’ (plants and trees) designed to clean urban environments from toxins like heavy metals.
My favourite CHRISTMAS LECTURE memory is:
In this years lectures (probably because i was there!) - when the parasitic wasp injected an egg into a live aphid. We hadn't seen this before - and i definitely didn't expect it to happen during live recording!
