I live in Oxford with my husband and my one-year-old son. I am originally from Mexico, but before moving to Oxford I lived in Paris, Tokio and a tiny town in Scotland called Troon. I love travelling and getting to know different cultures. I am very passionate about photography, especially taking pictures of landscapes. I now spend all my spare time with my lovely son, so when I’m not in the lab playing with babies, I am at home playing with my little son. I love watching TV series some of my favourite ones are The Black list, Dr House, and The Big Bang Theory.

I am part of Oxford Brookes BabyLab where a group of researchers tries to know how children learn about the world around them. For example, have you ever wondered: how do babies learn their language so quickly? how do babies understand emotions? How do they learn to walk? how do children learn to distinguish what is real from what is pretend? Well, At the Babylab, we try to answer these and other questions every day.
I will be very happy to chat about my work at the BabyLab or any other questions that you might have. Remember that:
“…every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question”

My Typical Day:
Wake up, play with my son, breakfast, walk to work, some hours in front of my computer, test a baby, play, play, another test, more play, pick up my son from nursery, dinner, more play, sleep…

My typical day is usually not very typical, every day is quite different, some times I need to spend all day writing, other days I’ll be in the hospital, family events or parks trying to convince families to bring their babies to the Babylab and help us with our research, other days I’ll be at the Babylab testing babies, or designing cartoons, or teaching or supervising students… As you can see, there are a bunch of activities that need to be done, so my typical day includes a mixture of any of these activities.
